Warehousing
The Group's five distribution centres provide a total of 1.76m ft² of storage space, including covered offloading and reception for rail freight in East Anglia, the North West and the North. We can provide dedicated and bespoke facilities or shared user warehousing, so that clients only pay for the space they need.The Group operates to ISO 9001 quality management system standards, and is a member the United Kingdom Warehousing Association.
Since 1965 the Group has handled almost every type of product and material, including -
Food products - from chocolate to Guinness and mineral water
Agricultural materials - including fertilisers, grain and animal feedstuffs
Chemicals - from automotive paints to printing supplies and potash
Building materials - concrete products, chipboard and timber
Consumer goods - textiles, home appliances and giftware
Toxics - Flammables
Paper products - newsprint, reels and palletised
While every distribution centre is equipped to handle a variety of goods and materials, each has been developed to meet the needs of specific, demanding market sectors.
The Group’s West Midlands, North West and Northern distribution centres specialise in storing and distributing chemicals, with fully equipped warehouse facilities including sprinklers and specially modified handling equipment. All locations meet top tier COMAH and BASIS standards. The Northern centre in Selby includes extensive food warehousing, while the East Anglian centre in Ely and Selby are equipped to handle paper and print in bulk reels and palletised on racking.
