Pharmaceutical storage and distribution
Potter Group distribution centres (DCs) are equipped to handle pharmaceutical products and materials and carry ISO9000 quality management accreditation.
The Merseyside centre holds an MHRA (Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency) Wholesale Dealers Licence and an AMI Licence, operates to industry Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and Good Distribution Practice (GDP), and employs a Quality Assurance Assistant to ensure full regulatory compliance. The centre manages a variety of pharmaceutical products for human and animal treatment including raw materials and finished products used around the world and OTC medicines for leading UK retailers.
The West Midlands and Yorkshire centres operate under licence to the Veterinary Medicines Directorate to store animal health products and operate to MHRA GDP standards. These three DC all carry top tier COMAH accreditation enabling them to handle hazardous pharmaceutical products.
Specialist facilities include temperature and temperature mapped controlled storage, bunded warehouses, monitored and enclosed zones for flammable products. Value-added services include sampling, pre-sales and rigorous quality control checks. Logistics services include order picking, packaging, re-packaging and dispatch. The company's own vehicle fleet operates locally and nationally, providing multi-drop and time-sensitive deliveries.
All staff are fully trained in the products and materials for which they are responsible, working on close collaboration with each client as part of an integrated team. Clients have the choice of interfacing their own inventory and stock control system with Potter Group Logistics's in-house software - or we can operate the client's own WM system if required.
