Potter Group Ripon to house high delivery agricultural feed blender
Potter Group’s Ripon centre will soon be operating a new agricultural blender for KW Agri blends, providing increased capacity and faster service to the local farming community. With a projected throughput up to 60,000 tonnes, the unit has the largest capacity in KW’s 12 national storage facilities.
A variety of over 20 feed ingredients are delivered mainly from the local area, held in stock then processed through the blender up to 10 tonnes per mix to the nutritionalists’ specific blends, then finally delivered to or collected by local farmers.
The 50% projected increase in the Potter Group’s feed mixing capacity continues a relationship between the companies going back to the 1960s when Group founder Derrick Potter worked with Kenneth Wilson Limited, the forerunner of KW Agri blends. The jointly funded venture of both equipment and infrastructure, the project strengthens the Group’s commitment to the local farming community.
The facility will comply with UFAS cleanliness and operational standards within KW’s licence and will be audited as an external storage unit.
KW leads the development of alternative feeds and blend sales in the UK, making it the natural choice on high performance livestock farms, offering the widest possible range of dry, moist, liquid, blended and compounded feeds alongside more traditional straights, minerals, vitamins, protected fats, secure covers and silage additives.
