Potter Group Logistics and St Michael's Hospice

St Michael’s Hospice in Harrogate was recently presented with a cheque for £6,560 by the head office staff of Potter Group Logistics, the national logistics company based at Melmerby.  They raised the money during the last twelve months through a series of fundraising activities including car washes, dress down days, a Christmas raffle, a series of Easter events, sale of redundant mobile phones and sponsorship of walkers taking part in the Sunrise Walk from Sawley to Ripon Cathedral last September.  Twelve employees, family and friends took part in the walk (or thirteen if you count Emily Collison, who was born in March this year and whose pregnant Mum was a member of the team of walkers) and raised £2,500 in sponsorship.

All in all, these fundraising activities realised a total of £3,280, which was then matched by Potter Group Logistics in recognition of the hard work of its employees.

Matthew Lamb, Managing Director of Potter Group Logistics, who was himself one of the walkers together with his family, said ‘We are glad to support our staff in this very worthwhile effort, and we are delighted that we can benefit a charity like St Michael’s which plays such an important role in our community.
