Akzo Nobel signs new three year agreement
Akzo Nobel Automotive Plastic Coatings UK has renewed its contract with The Group’s Midlands distribution centre for a further three years. The Droitwich top tier COMAH centre houses a number of specialist chemical storage units, including a dedicated raw materials and finished goods warehouse for Akzo Nobel situated alongside the client’s own colour mixing plant, laboratory and offices.
Akzo Nobel staff manage the production facility while Potter Group is responsible for storage and dispatch. This innovative approach allows both partners, working in close co-operation in adjacent buildings, to contribute their individual, complementary skills to the project.
The state-of-the-art Colour Mixing Plant incorporates a laboratory using advanced computer-aided colour testing equipment to make sure that the plastic coating supplied to a customer is an exact colour match to the body paint of the specific model.
Steve Downes, Akzo Nobel Automotive Plastic Coatings UK’s business manager, explained why the arrangement works so well. “We have the technical expertise to produce exactly the right materials with consistent quality the automotive industry demands. These qualities need to go hand in hand with accurate, complete and on-time delivery, and the Potter Group’s customer service attitude to business is what we expect in a logistics management partner”.
