Potter Group's North West centre awarded Government Pharmaceutical Storage recognition
The Potter Group’s North West distribution centre in Knowsley, Merseyside, has won MHRA (Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency) approval for the storage and distribution of pharmaceutical products. The award of the MRHA’s Wholesale Dealer’s Licence follows a rigorous and lengthy assessment of the Group’s standards and procedures to ensure they comply with the government’s safety and quality standards in protecting public health.
As the Centre already holds United States Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) accreditation, it is fully qualified to handle storage and distribution for the UK, EU states and the US, and is an ideal logistics partner for chemical and pharmaceutical manufacturers based in the North of England.
Knowsley’s general manager Bryan Mulvey explained why the Centre had sought MHRA approval. “The Potter Group’s success relies strongly on providing in the current jargon ‘added value’, which for us means a commitment and investment to meet the standards and expectations of specific markets.
Looking to the future we expect that EU legislation will mean even higher standards for chemical and pharmaceutical product storage and we are confident that the Group has the experience and mental attitude to meet whatever is required. As a result many more specialist manufacturers are deciding to outsource their logistics with us, to avoid the expense and possible upheaval required for them to conform to ever tighter legislation.”
