Derrick Potter named UKWA National Chairman
At the United Kingdom Warehousing Association's (UKWA) recent Annual General Meeting, Derrick Potter was announced UKWA National Chairman for 2007-08.Derrick is founder and executive chairman of The Potter Group and started the company as a one-man enterprise in Yorkshire in 1965. Derrick Potter commented: "The role of any trade association is to represent the views of its membership, protect their interests and take a lead in developing best practice. In my view it is the latter objective that will ensure the long term prosperity of UKWA and I am keen to add to the steps we have taken so far to improve professional standards in our industry. I very much look forward to continuing the excellent work of my predecessors and, indeed, to making a lasting contribution to UKWA and its members."
Founded in 1944, UKWA has over 600 members providing storage and third party logistics services, and represents the industry to both commerce and government. www.ukwa.org.uk
