Group's expertise wins new long-term chemical distribution contract

The Potter Group has won a three-year contract from Sika Limited to store and distribute speciality chemicals used in construction and industry. Some 3,000 pallets of high grade concrete admixtures, speciality mortars, sealants, adhesives, damping and reinforcing materials, structural strengthening systems, industrial flooring and sealing products will be stored in the Group's Droitwich centre for order picking and onward distribution throughout the UK using its own fleet supplemented by vehicles from Clarke Transport. The move will help to free up space in Sika's plants in Welwyn Garden City and will allow the company to consolidate all products in one main location, closer to its customer base.

Droitwich specialises in handling chemicals and is a top tier COMAH site, operates in line with BASIS standards and carries ISO 14001 accreditation. Its location is well suited to Sika's UK operations and business development strategy.

Managing Director Matthew Lamb commented: "It is very pleasing for the Potter Group to be awarded this prestigious contract against tough competition. The Sika brand is an extremely important addition to the list of chemical and building material customers that the Potter Group has as customers. We look forward to a long and mutually fruitful relationship."

Swiss company Sika is a global business with a worldwide network of subsidiaries active in the fields of speciality chemicals development and production.
