The Potter Group’s South East road and rail freight distribution centre at Ely is located close to the east coast ports and major roads, and is linked directly to the mainline rail network for domestic and international services. The centre has 24,000 m² (220,000 ft²) of rail-connected warehousing, extensive hard standing, office accommodation and more than 30 acres of land available for further development.Ely offers a full range of storage services including shared user, racked and blocked warehousing, customer bonded zones, dedicated food grade areas and space for bulk storage. Goods handled include paper, panel board, textiles, aggregates, white goods, packaged animal feeds, food and beverages.
The centre is fully equipped to handle container traffic arriving by either road or rail, with container handling 45 tonne capacity fork trucks, facilities to unload and store under cover and ample external storage space. Other specialist equipment includes purpose-designed vehicles for handling paper reels and Joloda trailer delivery systems.
